Movyon and Aitek<\/strong> have won the tender called by\u00a0Interporto di Bologna\u00a0SpA<\/strong>\u00a0for technological renewal of the access gate management system<\/strong> of the\u00a0logistics\u00a0platform in Emilia, one of the main European intermodal hubs in terms of traffic volume and operational complexity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work involves both updating the current transit control system at the south\u00a0access<\/strong>, and\u00a0implementing a gate automation system to service the new north access.<\/strong> It is a strategic project that aims to increase efficiency,\u00a0reliability\u00a0and operational continuity<\/strong> where approximately 5,000 heavy vehicles transit per day, for a total of over 1,600,000 transits per year, and where 130 freight transport and\u00a0logistics\u00a0companies are hosted.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When fully operational, the system will handle a total of 15 entry and exit lanes:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • south access: six lanes for heavy vehicles, one for exceptional transport, three for cars and one return\u00a0lane;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • north access: two lanes for buses and two for cars.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Movyon\u00a0is responsible for\u00a0overall project management and, with its experience in implementing\u00a0highly reliable\u00a0access control systems for complex\u00a0logistics\u00a0situations, will work on the infrastructure and technological equipment for the gates.
    Aitek will contribute\u00a0with\u00a0software applications for the\u00a0Sesamo-Gate platform to support automation of\u202fgate-in<\/em>\u202f and\u202fgate-out<\/em>\u202f processes and digital management of exit authorizations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    A key element of the project is the high level of system integration<\/strong>: the solution is designed to dialog natively with the railway terminal and with the paid parking area at the freight terminal so that heavy vehicle exit authorizations can be managed centrally and consistently<\/strong>, depending on logistics operations and vehicle parking conditions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The system for controlling exiting vehicles is also particularly innovative. It is based on dual identification methods: automatic license plate recognition and reading on-board electronic tolling devices. This combination ensures high operational robustness<\/strong>, even in critical environmental conditions or when license plates are difficult to read, reducing manual interventions and inconveniences for freight carriers, and making flows smoother in a traffic-intensive area.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The project is funded under the PNRR<\/strong>, Italy\u2019s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, (Measure M3C2 Investment 2.1 \u2013 Digitalization of the\u00a0logistics\u00a0chain \u2013 Sub-investment 2.1.2 \u201cPort and terminal network\u201d), confirming the strategic role of digitalization in making the national\u00a0logistics\u00a0system competitive.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    With this initiative, Movyon and Aitek consolidate a collaboration aimed at developing and implementing advanced technological solutions for access control and digital transformation of logistics infrastructures, both in Italy and on international markets. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
