An integrated system for road safety in tunnels

Tunnel Management is a modular and integrated suite composed of subsystems working in synergy to detect and process data within the tunnel, continuously monitor traffic and infrastructure conditions, and automatically and promptly activate safety measures in the event of critical situations or failures, as well as manage communications to travelers.

Through an Automatic Incident Detection (AID) system, based on AI-powered video analytics, the platform can detect in real time critical situations such as stopped or wrong-way vehicles, obstacles on the roadway, accidents, and the presence of smoke.

The field system collects real-time data from sensors and cameras installed along the tunnel and, when critical events occur, automatically activates all necessary safety measures, including those related to emergency systems such as ventilation, mitigation, and pressurization of safe areas in case of fire, as well as managing external communications.

The platform also integrates a control and monitoring system capable of supervising infrastructure devices, promptly reporting anomalies or failures, and supporting operators in activating intervention procedures, ensuring high service and safety standards.

The system also includes features dedicated to environmental safety, managing drainage systems to ensure the collection and containment of any hazardous substances released following incidents.
